Our lifestyle newborn sessions are quick, casual, and really flow from the family. We take cues from the baby, so if we need to slow down and eat or pace around the room, we're good with that. That's the best part of a lifestyle session-- there's no "must haves". There's always traditional shots that we try to capture but we really allow ourselves to fall into the rhythm of the moment (and the best photos come from capturing real life as it's unfolding).
We have options for in-home shoots or studio sessions. This one was a studio session and I'm thankful for this studio because it's a perfect canvas. The studio is easy to get to and from (good parking is always at the top of my mind), the drive to this studio is not difficult, well lit, and they always have wonderful daytime availability. If a newborn session in your home feels overwhelming, this is a great option (and bonus: it's included complimentary in our newborn session!).
There's nothing I'd rather do than watch couples I care for becoming a family. I've walked through a lot of life events with Morgan & Grant but getting to watch them become parents is the most beautiful. Baby Olivia came a little early and we moved up her newborn session by weeks so getting to capture her very new life was such a blessing. When booking a newborn session, we always just choose a date that can be moved around when baby arrives and you have a better idea of what your days look like. Typically those initial dates work great but we're always flexible if things change.
